Desktop Wallpapers mini user guide:
On a computer that is provided with a desktop kind of user interface, wallpaper is the background
pattern or picture against which desktop menus, icons, and other elements are displayed and moved around.
A wallpaper image can be in a JPEG or a GIF file format. Wallpaper is commonly used in Microsoft Windows,
Macintosh Mac OS, Linux, and in other operating systems as well. Each operating system provides several
pre-installed wallpapers images for the user to choose from. A user can also choose to download and install
third-party wallpapers and use one of these instead.
Typically, a wallpaper image may be centered, stretched, or tiled. When an image is centered, it is
placed in the middle of the desktop and is surrounded by a solid color. When an image is stretched,
it is stretched to cover all of the desktop. Only certain images can be stretched or they look distorted.
An image that is tiled is placed on the desktop much like tiles are placed in a shower or a tiled floor.
Tiling is commonly used for patterns instead of photos because a pattern is one square image that repeats
itself across and down the screen, effectively forming a single image.
Adding different wallpapers to you computer allows you to change the background image of
your desktop.
To setup new wallpaper follow these steps:
- Download the wallpaper to your computer.
- Click 'Right mouse button' somewhere on desktop.
- Choose the 'Background' tab.
- Click on 'Browse'
- Find and highlight the image you want to use and click 'Apply'

sed has given some great advice about virus protection. There is another thing you can do to protect yourself, and that is the use of a firewall. It's very important for your privacy and protection! It's unbelievable how often our pc's are under attack. There are millions of hackers out there spending hours and hours of time just sending out pings. Without a firewall, you are in open season on your computer. I found ZoneAlarm to be a great free firewall. There are more free firewalls for your downloads. I would go to http://www.download.com and enter in the search free firewall. You will get a list of firewalls, freeware, shareware or payed versions. http://www.tucows.com is another great place to find firewall software. You can also just go to http://www.zonealarm.com and get direct access to the free software download.
Another thing I have found for your computer's protection is spybot search and destroy. It will protect your registry and gives you the option to change your registry with every software instalation. So, you are the one who decides what goes in your registry. You can use your internet's search tool and put in spybot-search & destroy to find the internet link to the download page. This is also a free download.
As sed suggested, don't forget your virus protection. I've found Avast to be a great virus protector. You can find it at

Dont even go without it!
If you are even THINKING about entering this world of "cyberspace" without virus protection...... Well, that is very very un-necessary! In the MSG. board you can find all sorts of freebe downloads! I know cuz when I find them I post them for you! One great starting point is www.downloads.com Look for AVG or Avira for GREAT free virus protection...... Just today on a different site, my freevirus protect blocked 6 just on signing in!!! Zapped em!!!
